Daily Winter Activities & Recreation Options

Snow sport enthusiasts can go out on their own with a trail pass and/or hire one of the Ranch’s professional guides and instructors. Winter recreation options include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking, on 120K of groomed and tracked trails, 15K of dedicated skijoring trails (ski with your dog), 4K of lighted trails for night skiing, horseback riding, sleigh and feed rides, sledding, tubing, ice skating and winter biathlon. Holiday Events

Fairy tale dreams do come true when it includes a blanket of snow over 6,500 acres of pristine wilderness and a magical ranch-style holiday setting. Festivities for overnight guests include wreath making, breakfast with Santa, gingerbread art, Mrs. Claus story time, New Year’s Eve concert, and indulgent holiday buffets.

December 22: Breakfast with Santa (Holiday Breakfast daily through Jan. 5)

Kick off the holiday season with Father Christmas himself at a special breakfast buffet in Heck’s.

December 24: Signature Christmas Eve Buffet at Heck’s

Dreaming of a white Christmas surrounded by family and feasts? Indulge in holiday favorites, Prime Rib, and indulgent desserts and leave the cooking and cleaning to the Ranch staff!

Times: 4 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

December 29 (also offered January 26): Skijoring Clinic

Learn how to ski or improve your canine communication skills on the trails! All ability levels welcome. Must bring your own dog.

Times: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Cost: $45 clinic only; $85 package includes clinic, trail pass, ski rental, and harness.

December 31: New Year’s Eve at the Ranch, Signature New Year’s Eve Buffet at Heck’s

Indulge in the Ranch’s signature New Year’s Eve Dinner Buffet at Heck’s, offering a prime rib carving station, pork tenderloin, fresh seafood, roasted vegetables, assorted cheeses, and more.

Times: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Concert with Austin Jenckes

Known for being a Top finalist on Season 5 of TV’s The Voice, country singer-songwriter Austin Jenckes will play an intimate solo performance to ring in the new year exclusively for overnight lodging guests. Champagne toast when the ball drops at midnight on the east coast (10 p.m. MST). Finish out the year with a late night tater tot bar in Heck’s.

Times: Doors 7 p.m., Show 8 p.m.-10p.m.

Headwaters Center New Year’s Eve Concert

Off-site revelers, including locals, can kick up their heels at Headwaters Center in Winter Park with the Honey Island Swamp Band and Ben Miller Band presented by the Grand County Blues Society.
